Today, we lost Sally Ride, the first American woman to travel to space. She was only 61. Sally died of pancreatic cancer. She was truly a pioneer and proof of the continual tearing down of barriers in American society. We have a way to go but those who seek a barrier-free society must stand on Sally’s shoulders. She will be missed.
